It brings me great pleasure in announcing from tomorrow it is officially DISABILITY AWARNESS MONTH. This month is celebrated globally as a month in respect of the disabled community. This month is dedicated in order to promote independence, mobility, understanding of disabilities and bringing of dignity for people with disabilities. It is important to spread awareness of disabilities as this lets people know and understand people with disabilities. it is important to bring awareness as this allows all people, abled or disabled, to be included in society and gives all a way to relate to people with disabilities.

It is necessary to have awareness around the topic of disabilities as there is many things people can learn about disabilities. Having awareness around disabilities can teach people about other extra challenges that the disabled community have to over come along with the daily obstacles of life. There are added challenges when having a disability that many people do not actually expect. Thus, if there is awareness to aid people in knowing and realizing what disabled people go through, there will be a greater understanding in regards to this topic. People could just get a new perspective on life and might apply what they see from the determination of disabled people in their own lives.

Having awareness bring inclusivity of all kinds of people, therefore having a month dedicated to disability awareness brings this effect to the different communities within the world. There are many difficulties that comes with having a disability and to bring this to the awareness of other people.

I love the thought of having months like these to spread awareness for specific topics that need to be addressed, especially ones that people find hard to address in general. I hope by having a month like this to respect the disabled community, awareness will be taken into account by as many people as possible. I have this hope because of the troubles that disabled people have with things like employment and independence. I implore schools and companies to register the importance of this month and take the opportunity to consider giving a chance to the disabled community. There is a stigma that makes it seem that the disabled community are not capable of maintaining a job position for example but what is not thought of is the simple changes that can be made to insure that said person is able to maintain their position. Paraplegics for example can have ramps installed in the work pace, allowing for their mobility, this is a long-term investment for employers as they know they will be able to employ para or quadriplegics in future. It is almost like employers do not realise the long-term goals they could set for their companies as they could expand their company in terms of accessibility and job opportunities for people with disabilities.

Since it is disability awareness month I would love to approach as many schools and companies for an opportunity for me to do talks with students and employees. I feel like doing talks such as my own, will help achieve the mission of November. I would love to host team building activities or plain old motivational talks to spread as much awareness, especially in this very importa
