For our first assembly of the year, we welcomed Jessica Pita as our guest speaker. Jessica was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2014 and at the age of 11 lost her vision after the removal of the tumour. She is “legally blind,.” She continued with mainstream schooling with the aid of an assistant, desktop magnifier’s, concessions and other forms of technology, but in addition to learning a new way of coping with everyday life, she found that she was bullied and discriminated against. As a motivational speaker, she aims to create awareness about people with disabilities. She encouraged the girls to adopt an empathetic approach when dealing with people rather than a sympathetic approach. She said “only you can define your own life and write your own”, but be generous and positive in your outlook and relationship with others. Jessica’s outlook is to focus on what she can do rather than what she can’t do and she now plays many instruments and is an avid show-jumper.

ATKV Head Quarters
I would like to thank Jessica Pita for the amazing motivation talk she hosted for us at the ATKV Head Quarters on the 27th of January 2023.
Jessica is from the organisation Flying Blind and I have previously seen her singing and dancing as part of C Sharp music academy and was intrigued by her story. How can someone with a vision disability do so well on stage and you don’t even notice she is blind?
We reached out to her to find out if she could host our “Kick off” talk and she did a phenomenal job. Not only is she inspirational, but she is living proof that nothing should stop us in our pursuit of happiness in life. Limitations should not be an option to achieve a goal; we should focus on the good and find a way around any hurdles.
Jessica embodies strength and she is passionate about what she does. Her story inspires people and makes you want to live your best life. She also shares powerful quotes, life lessons and tips on how to succeed.
Jessica is very professional and gives an amazing talk. She was also well prepared. Our talk also included a tug of war activity, which included one of life’s most powerful lessons; life is a series of ups and downs; which we have to navigate in a positive manner to move forward.
I would recommend her as a speaker for any corporate event, she is reasonably priced, adds value and left many people talking about the event.
Thanks Jessica, continue your work, you touch many hearts with your story! You are truly amazing, a “one in a million kind of lady”
THANK YOU

It is a complete honour for me to write this letter on behalf of Jessica. I am quite certain that in my 25-year career, I have heard a minimum of 60 motivational speakers including President’s past and present American to our very own good and bad, I have had the pleasure of Sir Bob Geldof and the late Johnny Clegg to name but a few, either at financial seminars orientations or leadership opportunities. There is no doubt in my mind that Jessica is the most moving and courageous I have ever heard.
In December 2022 at my Daughters and Sons school honours assembly we had the good fortune of having Jess speak to a room full of parents and students. At this point it was late afternoon a little post Covid anxiety, and all I wanted to do was get home and not necessarily listen to another school speaker…and the next thing Jess delivered her personal story and in a room packed to capacity filled with close to a thousand people, and you could hear a pin drop, Jess continued to share a personal message of overcoming adversity, determination, and most of all love, to the students in a way that connected that was so quirky, honest, raw and yet authentic. As I sat in my seat, I knew I would want to share her message on a larger platform. I believe that the reason Jess has such an impact on all that she presents to is that she is clearly genuine in every regard. Young people, even more so than adults, can see through hypocrisy or “plastic people”. When you hear Jess speak and get to know her as a person, you fully realize that there is nothing insincere about her and her journey — it truly comes from her heart, and her ability is just so much bigger than her disability itself. This came across at a corporate function that I asked jess to speak at in February of 2023 where Jess presented to fellow members of my company at a EQ FIN Financial Advisory conference of over 200 delegates, Jess in character took to the stage like a eagle to flight and took the breath away of each and every delegate both present and online, Jess’s Impact was so strong that speakers that followed two sessions later were referring to her and that was a first for me in 25 years.
Just in the brief time that I got to know Jess and her family you get to know your surrounded by good people, and I happen to know that Jess is as meaningful influencer on social media to other young people with special needs and that goes a long way to proving her how Jess act’s with humanity and does what matters to those who need her in their time of need. considering the journey jess is willing to openly share. It is with only the highest regards that I recommend Jess for any speaking engagement, and I wish her only the very best! Imagine it’s possible Jess “Mission with a Vision” is worth the investment in your organisation.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

“Wow what an inspiration!! Jess captured her audience today whereby everyone was lost for words”.
I own a local real estate company and invited Jessica to talk to my office. I felt that by Jess sharing her story with everyone they would realise that one could choose to be a victim in life or embrace and acknowledge what blessings we have and use them to our advantage.
Well Jess most certainly got that message across and left my staff with a lovely message to embrace and carry forward. A simple yet huge message, be Humane.
I would recommend Jess to speak to any audience, big and tall old or young, she speaks from the heart and is so genuine you feel that you were part of her journey.
A real must to remind one of the bare basics in life.
Thank you, Jess, for brave enough to share your story with us and we wish every success that you so rightly deserve.

Jessica may be legally blind, but she certainly has a vision!
On the 11th of August 2023 the TrinityHouse Glenvista Primary School students were paid a visit aby motivational speaker and influencer: Jessica Pita.
Students and staff alike had the incredible privilege of witnessing a truly inspiring and transformative talk by a remarkable young motivational speaker – Jessica Pita. Her unique perspective on equality and fairness resonated deeply with our students as they related it to our RDI program (Respect, Diversity and Inclusion).
What sets Jessica apart, is not only her sense of humour and ability to relate to our students, but also her personal journey. Despite being legally blind, she has overcome challenges that most can only imagine.
During the talk, Miss Pita cleverly integrated her personal experiences into a narrative that supported the importance of treating everyone with respect, kindness and empathy. She reminded us that disabilities are merely one factor of a person’s identity, and that true equality lies in embracing the differences that make us all unique (and that we are all capable of being our own superheroes).
With a blend of humour, vulnerability, and 21st century jokes, Jessica captured the attention and hearts of our Trinitonians. Her message of inclusivity left students with a newfound sense of awareness and responsibility towards creating a more inclusive world.
The students loved meeting her service/guide dog Fudge and this will be an assembly we hold close to our hearts for a long time…

Jessica’s speech was very inspiring and definitely made an impact one each and everyone present. Her story and perception on life truly made us have a different view on life and how to handle any situation.
Her presentation and speaking ability really allow us to connect with her not only as a speaker but as a young girl struggling just like everyone else.
She also allows us to get a different perspective on people living with a disability.
Her furry little friend really also steals the show.
