Why does it feel like I haven’t been chatty on here in a while?  I am back though. So, things have been a little crazy busy and I feel like this is the first week where I feel like I am not drowning under all the work I need to get done. I say this though, a few hours after finding out that I am writing my psychology exam in under two weeks…… I am going to take it in my stride though.

Now it has come to exam season, I know it is time to hit the books and push until the last stretch. I’ll be on holiday soon enough, so it’ll be worth it. Even though there’s a lot on my plate with all the studying, I am not going to stress or panic. I realized something that is a bit comforting when it comes to taking control of situations like this…

“You are not your mind.”

Read this a couple of times until it really hits and sinks in.  You have the power to do anything if you really think about it. You have a mind just like the guy who build a space shuttle to land on the moon. You have a mind just like the legend Freddy Mercury did to write his insane hits. The mind is a powerful thing and if you exercise it in the right way, you will head straight for success.

I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of studying and work to be covered for tests that I had these past couple of weeks and I didn’t really let myself take a break and just chill a bit in-between the studying. This time around however, I am going to let my brain have a bit of time to breath. Let my mind see the outdoors and watch and episode of Netflix. Even make some pancakes or something as such.

Your mind is a powerful machine and you should never forget that. As I approach these exams, I am not going to let myself be overwhelmed or run by the amount of work that needs to be done. Nothing really goes in when you all stressed out and I’m sure many people will agree. You can’t get much done when your brain is being left to its own devices of taking a dive straight into the stressful deep end.

Always remember the power of your mind. You have control of what to do with it so don’t let it take control of you. Train your brain to be the strongest it can be. You can take control of the brain’s plasticity, expanding and growing the amount of capabilities it can maintain. So, these exams are not going to be the death of me, I have it under control. I am the one who can make a difference in my own life and I am going to take control of the situation. These exams are going to be killer easy and I know they will go down well.  So don’t be afraid to take control of your mind and watch it grow.

“Just because were in a stressful situation doesn’t mean we have to get stressed out.  You may be in the storm.  The key is don’t let the storm get in you.” – Joel Osteen.
