Christmas time is definitely in the air. The joyful vibe is spreading and every where you go there are carols playing from the speakers. This time of year makes me feel even like a little child. This is my favourite time of the year and I wish it could last longer. The smell of baking cookies and the knowledge that Santa is going to be in town, really reminds you of that burning energy of childhood.

Each time the festive season comes around, I make sure to savor each second. I take in all the memories and make the best of the time like my life depends on it. Focusing on the present… excuse the pun… focusing on what is taking place right in front of us. It is important to realize how we miss moments in time when we are too busy focusing on what’s to come. I have figure out that the right way to go around making each moment last, is to just be there…. Be in the moment… don’t think about what will or should happen but instead on what is just happening.

They say that life happens when you too busy planning the way you think it should go. We need to remind ourselves to enjoy every moment we are given because these moments can be taken away from us when we are trying too hard to get them in our hands. Things happen for a reason and in their own time. You can’t force anything but you can make the most of what you have been given to work with.

As this Christmas season comes around, please make your priorities straight. Stop trying to make everything go according to the perfect plan that’s been created in your minds eye. Just live and be happy and grateful for what is staring you straight in the face. As you bake the Christmas cookies for Santa this year, make the most of the mess of flour all over the kitchen. Make the most of you artistic decorating skills. Don’t care too much about whether it goes exactly to plan or not. Be in the moment and absorb every memory. Take in each joke, story or Christmas tradition as they come. Maybe this might be a bit deep for this blog but, don’t live as if you never going to die… don’t die as if you have never lived…. Life comes with its own expiry date and we never really know when the time will come, so do yourself a favor and live in the moment and create the best out of every situation.  Be a little child again with no worry in the world except for the concerns of the naughty and nice lists….

“Christmas is like candy:  it slowly melts in your mouth sweetening every taste bud, making you wish it could last forever.”  -Richelle Goodrich.
