Studying in the world of medicine and psychological advances, is interesting to see how certain effects take place. Different types of treatments are discussed and implemented, with all the hope that it has the positive effect it was meant to install. The craziest treatment for me however is based off the placebo effect. From those who are unfamiliar with the term, it is basically a treatment by which the patient might not actually be receiving the medication or treatment but the belief that they are. The belief alone, shows positive improvements in their condition even though they are not actually receiving the legitimate treatment. Prett incredible, right.

I learn a lot about the placebo effect when studying different types of psychological treatments or advances. Studying this just gives written proof that something like believing in yourself can make all the difference. I have always practiced the idea of what I believed I could do, I would do. Here, in black and white, that if you need to do something that may seem hard, you just need to believe,

It might be a cliché but think about the scientific evidence. There can be changes in one’s health based on the belief that one will get better. Now, please tell me why you can’t apply that to any situation. If the belief that it is possible is right in front of your face, why is it ‘impossible’…. If you need to change something or do something. If you have a plan or a dream, why not just believe that it can be done and will happen. I was once told that my dreams are a bit over the top. When it was said to me, I just smiled because what this person didn’t realise was, the basic fact that I knew they would come true. I might have the longest list of crazy dreams that people would call insane, but I know that I can tick each thing off that list.

“The biggest adventure you can take in life, is to follow your dreams”.

I intend to follow mine. I don’t intend on letting myself down. If there is something great out there for me that I need to do or see and have, I will get there. It doesn’t matter if you are reading this right now and think I’m absolutely kidding myself, I will get there. Once I started checking off the crazy dreams, I knew I could tick them all off.
