When I was younger, I would always wait to watch the blooper scenes of a movie. Seeing all the laughs and great moments shared between the actors and actresses. It made me have a dream of being an actress in my adult life. The thing that I slowly discovered though, was that I didn’t really need to wait to be a part of some great movie.

As I grew up, it became obvious that each person was taking on a role in their own movie. There would be different time frames within life where each person was just focused on their own role, and you just had to figure out how and where you fit into other peoples movies. Sometimes it was painfully clear that you didn’t belong in their cast list for their movie but other times it was an important role you had to keep playing in another movie.

The point to all this is that we have to sometimes remember that we have to focus on the role we have in our own movie. Making sure that we play the part in the way that show our true colors, reflecting the reason you were given the role. We have to remind ourselves that we can’t always help the other cast members in our movie because at the same time, they are figuring out their own main movie rolls.

Think about the moment when you are in a car and you look out the window whilst a good tune comes on the radio. Doesn’t it feel like you are featuring in a real Hollywood show.  That is the proof that shows how real the allusion to our lives can be, acting as a movie. We must look after the role we play and do it like we were meant to. We can’t get lost in the trance of our roles in other peoples movie that we get lost during our own movie. Don’t forget to take a deep breath once in a while and release the stress of the curve balls that are thrown into the script. We can’t say that we will be prepared for all the scenes that we will take part in during our lifetime but if we just remember the true meaning behind the role we play, then we should be ok to take the worst on. Improvisation is also a pretty handy tool in the movie industry, so if you ever feel lost, just go with what feels right. Base your energy on doing what makes you feel good and improves who you are. Place yourself in the path of challenges that will help you gain the strength and courage to take on any role and deal with any scene in your movie, expected or otherwise.

“Life is like a movie and you’re the star. Give it a happy ending.” -Joan Rivers.
