‘The biggest adventure you can take in life, is to follow your dreams.’
This is a quote that has been an important feature in my life for as long as I can remember. Ironically enough, I was thinking of writing this week’s blog based on dreams, I just wasn’t confident yet on the topic. However, as I took a break from my studying, I came across a video that stated something I knew made the topic all the more worthy of being spoken about. This video stated,
“Every morning you have two choices, stay asleep with your dreams or wake up and go get them.”
I took this as my queue to get writing.
Ever since I was a little human, I had the biggest dreams. I was determined to take the necessary steps to immigrate to London around the age of nine. I just didn’t seem to realize that I had no job, food or house that would keep me alive during this life-changing adventure. The point the little me was trying to make though, is that no dream is too big. Personally, I see every opportunity as a possibility. The issue comes in, when we have to make certain decisions or hard work that is needed to get success in these opportunities.
My take on life is that, if you really want something, you are going to do everything in your power to make it happen. You have to wake up and get going to get the dreams that you have formed in your mind. Lying in bed and pretending that your dreams are a reality, is not an automatic switch to make them so. I find that when we follow our dreams and ambitions, we really live the lives that we want to live. It’s not the part where we read “self-help” books that will make the change, but it’s actually putting what they say into action. You can fight me on this, but I think that finding things that motivate and assist us in making the change is pointless unless you actually put the physical application to your life.
I want you to take the message of achieving the dreams you have for yourself. My main message would say that you NEED to take the adventure of following these dreams. It is decisions filled with anticipation and unknowing that stop us from going in for the catch, thus we must be brave. Be adventurous and cunning. Following your dreams could be seen as a quest, if you will, it’s your duty to complete the quest. If you don’t, you fail all the expectation of your hopes and dreams. All that you will end up bringing is disappointment. I’m not trying to be harsh but the simple fact is that no one else is going to help you get to your dreams because they are focused on their own dreams. Each person has their own choice of paths they must take to get to the end goal of their dreams, sometimes we can’t stay on the same path. We have to make a choice.
What exactly do you have to do to live up to this dream?
Its only your own time you using to get to these dreams… Make it worth it.
