Man, oh man has this week been insanely busy… I don’t think I have ever managed to push my schedule so far to the brim, to fit everything in that I needed to do. As you might of seen by my social media, I went away this weekend and I had made a promise to myself, that the weekend was going to be a complete break from everything happening. Life just gets crazy sometimes and you need these moments.
Anyways as I got back, I had to do all I could to get back up to date with my studying and catch up with classes that had been put up online. Plus, all the usual rush of normal life and family time and everything. So for the past two days I have been up and at it, with every spare moment I can use to do all the work and studying that I had to get done. One word… STRESS……… early starts and late nights just equal up to stress. This is what I want to base the blog on this week. Self-care.
Some of you might be like me who push themselves to the point of human explosiveness, if that’s a thing. We sometimes forget to just take a breath. I’m actually writing this blog and using the time as an excuse to relax on the brain cells a little bit. The point I am trying to make here is that you should always remember to just pause and take a few minutes for yourself. Clear your head and breathe. Go for a swim or watch an episode of Netflix. And if all else fails just be like me ‘the work out freak’ and do a few reps of physical activity.
We should not allow ourself to be sucked into a void caused by over working and over achieving. It is always great to get the satisfying feeling of getting something done on that LONG check list. At the same time though, we really should learn to add “ME TIME” to the check list. If that’s the lengths you have to go then check it off the list. It’s really is not a good thing to keep going without a break because you can burn out or start despising what you initially do during these busy times. You might forget the reason why you started doing what you are doing and totally disregard it. What would be the point of all that then. Is it worth it? I don’t think so.
PLEASE remember my words… TAKE A BREAK. It is not going to cost you anything, I promise.
