I am proud to say that last week, I did my first motivational talk. It didn’t go too shabby if I may say so my myself. It was so enjoyable to stand in front of people again to share my story. I realized how much I actually missed it. I am looking forward to the speeches I have coming up at the end of the month, this time being corporate. The common factor about these few speeches I have to start off the year, allowed me to focus on the theme of gratitude. Coincidently the first few speeches have the same theme of gratitude. So, I figured maybe talking about gratitude in this week’s blog.
Gratitude can be a tricky thing… I only say this because sometimes we must learn to be thankful for some things that we wouldn’t usually be thankful for. Let me elaborate… sometimes we must be thankful for the bad things that life throws in our direction. I am not trying to be insensitive but sometimes those bad things that we must get through, make us who we are. It makes us stronger and might remind you why certain things happen. Once we pass through a rough time, we can learn to understand the reason behind the pain or the sadness. Once we get to the other side of the tunnel that we must go through at a certain part in our lives, we can see that we can be thankful that the tunnel led us to an even more beautiful place that we might have been in before.
Turning to a lighter note though. We must always be aware of being thankful for all the good things. ‘Things’ refers to, people, moments in time, memories, love, and opportunities. All the things that bring you happiness. These things are what life is all about. You don’t need all the materialistic things the world has to offer. Mostly, you just need those stretches of time in life, where all the good things just seep in.
What I have noticed, is that when you might be having a bad day or time in your life, many people like to reflect. They especially like to reflect on things to be grateful for. This links to what I said before.
When you seem to be going through a hard time, just remember all the good things that you have. All the good things that await you on the other side and all the good things that you got to experience before this point. The pain that we experience is only caused by those good things we may be losing if you narrow it down. I hope this makes sense. If you need me to explain what I mean even further, please do tell me. If you would like to share a few things you are grateful for, I would love to hear. Maybe it could inspire a few other readers and remind them of what they are grateful for. I am truly grateful for, my family and friends, hobbies, and opportunities to inspire people.
